WHO WE ARE
The 1911 Guys was founded in 2019 by two retired brothers, Mike and Terry, both military veterans who shared a lifelong respect for craftsmanship, service, and the timeless design of the 1911 pistol. What began as a way to stay busy in retirement quickly turned into something more—an operation built on precision work, honest advice, and treating every customer like a fellow enthusiast.
From the beginning, The 1911 Guys earned a reputation for exceptional workmanship and outstanding customer service. Word spread quickly among shooters who valued quality over shortcuts, and the shop became known for meticulous attention to detail and a no-compromise approach to gunsmithing—especially when it came to the 1911 platform.
Recently, the business entered a new chapter when it was acquired by Charlie, also a retired military veteran who shared the same values and passion that Mike and Terry built the company on. With deep respect for the foundation already in place, Charlie set out to grow the business while preserving the standards that made The 1911 Guys trusted in the first place.
Today, Charlie works alongside Chris, the shop’s lead gunsmith, to continue and expand the legacy Mike and Terry started. Together, they are building on that foundation by growing the business, refining processes, and maintaining the high level of craftsmanship and reliability customers expect—particularly with custom and precision 1911 work.
The 1911 Guys is now a full-service gunsmithing and customization shop, offering everything from repairs and compliance work to detailed custom builds and engraving. Whether it’s a duty firearm, competition gun, or a personal heirloom, every piece that comes through the shop is treated with the same care, respect, and attention to detail.
